I am a primary school teacher and Assistant Principal in an inner city public school in Sydney. I am passionate about raising the public profile of all the amazing things educators do on a day to day (and hour to hour, and minute to minute basis). This blog will (hopefully) be a collection of my ideas about how to make that happen.
I’ve taught in specialist schools for children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties in London, mainstream schools in London and Sydney, and very briefly in a rural school in an indigenous community in Ecuador.
I love my job and I believe in the power of education to transform individuals, communities and society.
You can also find me on @poppyshel on twitter where I’m also one of the curators of an Australian rotation curation account @EduTweetOz where educators connect, share their journeys and experiences and build a community.
